When the well‑meaning but boastful Miller claims his daughter can spin straw into gold, Princess Daisy suddenly finds herself trapped in an impossible royal command. The King, dazzled by the promise of riches, demands that she perform the miracle by morning—or lose her freedom. Just when all hope seems lost, a mysterious little man appears. He dances, cackles, and offers help, spinning straw into shimmering gold in exchange for a series of promises Daisy never intended to make.
With the straw spun into gold, the Prince can marry sweet Daisy. As the royal wedding bells ring they sing and dance all through the town for a year and a day. Baby Sweet Pea is born along the way and everyone is happy until the strange visitor returns to collect his final bargain. Unless Daisy can guess the little man’s name, the visitor will take away the baby. Daisy and the Prince must outwit him before he takes what is most precious. With the help of the audience, Daisy discovers the power hidden in a name—and the strength that comes from speaking the truth.
Brought to life with Bits N Pieces’ beautifully lathe‑turned wooden marionettes, the production contrasts Daisy’s gentle grace, the King’s pompous swagger, and Rumpelstiltskin’s wiry, quick‑twisting mischief. Playful songs, rhythmic movement, and expressive string work guide children through themes of honesty, responsibility, and the courage to correct a mistake.
In the end, Daisy triumphs not through magic but through bravery and integrity, proving that even the trickiest bargain can be broken when you face it with heart.
